Baobab Children´s Home
El Naturalista’s Atauchi Project expands its reach and travels to Africa to support a new educational endeavor in collaboration with the Spanish NGO Amigos de Tanzania.

Home of Hope in Arequipa
This project started in late 2005 in cooperation with the NGO ProPeru. Our commitment has supported the construction of the Home of Hope including the areas needed for development activities for the more than 113 children who are served by the home.

Collaboration with Haiti
El Naturalista, through the Atauchi Project, has begun to work on several humanitarian and cooperative projects that can provide a small measure of hope to the people of Haiti hoping to contribute in reconstruction phase of the country.
The Atauchi Project was the beginning of our humanitarian efforts and reflects El Naturalista’s social conscience and its commitment to social responsibility – it is the human face of our company’s philosophy.
Since 2004, the Atauchi Project has worked with several non-profit organizations to help develop and promote educational programs for needy children in Third World countries; this project encompasses all our international efforts.
For more than 5 years this work has made many people smile, and has involved the entire El Naturalista team: office staff, sales team, communications and marketing agencies, design team, manufacturing personnel, stores, and customers.
Everyone has embraced the supportive spirit of this initiative.
The Atauchi Project started by El Naturalista donating 1.00 Euro for each pair of shoes from the NASCA collection, inspired by the Nasca Lines in Peru, to several humanitarian initiatives in this Andean country.
After opening the E-shop in 2007, El Naturalista decided to increase its humanitarian efforts by designating 1.00 Euro for each pair of shoes sold on line from any collection.
In 2009, El Naturalista stepped up its efforts and expanded its contribution to include a portion of the profit from all shoes sold from all collections. This represented a substantial financial increase for social programs sponsored by our company. Because of this, we decided to support additional initiatives in other developing countries. We traveled to Africa, more specifically to Tanzania, to continue our sponsorship of programs for the education of disadvantaged children.
Since the beginning of the Atauchi Project, El Naturalista has raised over 175,000 Euros for two education projects in Peru. One project has already been completed in Piura, a province in northern Peru, where we helped rebuild schools in this rural area.
Currently we are collaborating on the construction of the City of Hope, which includes a home for disabled and abandoned children called the “Home of Hope”, in Arequipa, Peru. The home provides education, social services, workshops, medical care, and rehabilitation for the disadvantaged.
We have a blog describing all the humanitarian activities sponsored by El Naturalista.
