The ATAUCHI Project is an outstanding example of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

It illustrates a successful partnership between a private company (El Naturalista) and non-profit organizations to develop educational projects for small and needy children in Third World countries.

Since 2004, our company, through the Atauchi Project, has donated 1 Euro of every shoe sold from the NASCA collection to the Atauchi Project. Shoes in this collection have been inspired by the famous NASCA lines in the south of Peru -declared a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO.

With the launch of our On-line shop, El Naturalista has decided to increase our commitment to this humanitarian project by donating 1 Euro for each pair of shoes sold on our website.

The Atauchi Project is an essential part of El Naturalista's Department of Corporate Social Responsibility (DCSR) framework. This department was created to coordinate all of El Naturalista's existing social actions and activities, as well as to develop new initiatives. The creation of this department demonstrates that a company can ("caminar por la vida") "walk through life" on a corporate path that respects and values our human and natural resources.

In 2009, El Naturalista will substantially increase the donations to two non-profit organizations in Arnedo, Spain, the location of our main production facility: La Asociación de Discapacitados (Arnedo Disabled Persons Association) and el Grupo de Perros de Salvamento de Arnedo (Arnedo Dog Search & Rescue Team). El Naturalista will donate 0.10 euros for each pair of shoes sold from any its collections.

Also in 2009, the Atauchi Project will expand its outreach to other countries and will travel to Africa. In keeping with our social commitment, we will assist in the education of children by constructing a school for 600 students in Togo.

To date, El Naturalista has donated more than 150,000 Euros to the Atauchi Project. The first undertaking was to help rebuild several schools and to train teachers to assist children in the province of Piura, a rural area in the north of Peru. Today our efforts are focused on building "The City of Hope", a home for disabled and abandoned children in Arequipa, Peru. In 2010, this home will provide care for 113 children.

Everyone at El Naturalista -executives, distributors, sales agents, marketing representatives, manufacturing workers, advertising personnel, design staff, stores employees, and the people who wear our shoes- has enthusiastically embraced the humanitarian goals of the Atauchi Project and is committed to its success.
