A little action on your part can help go a long way

peru

15th August.
An earthquake measuring 7.9 of the Richter scale has left
around 500 people dead and thousands injured. The earthquake has hit 300 other places in South America. In parts of the country there is no
electricity, water or food.

A multitude of initiatives have begun in response to the damage caused. Different companies and organisations have mobilised and helped in the recovery work. For example, teams have organised football matches to raise funds for humanitarian help and the reconstruction of damaged areas.

El Naturalista has collaborated with NGO Properú (www.properu.org.es) in the reconstruction of rural areas and in the creation of a school, "Home of
Hope"
, for affected children, with a completion date set for 2008. More than
50,000 people have contributed by buying a pair of shoes from El
Naturalista's Nasca collection, with ?1 being donated from every pair sold.
